Intensive Individual Trauma Treatment:

Single event and repeated traumatic experiences, especially those taking place during childhood, have the capacity to leave individuals with emotional, psychological, and spiritual wounds.  Due to the intense nature of many traumatic memories, it can be difficult to thoroughly and safely work through them in traditional, weekly outpatient therapy.  The complexity of trauma-related disorders, as well as the ability to heal from them, are why we believe in, and provide, intensive individual trauma treatment programs.   Intensive programs are either one-week (5 days) or two-weeks (10 days) of treatment, with a multi-therapist team.  Each day consists of seven hours of various trauma processing techniques and creative modalities; therefore, just one week equates to almost a full year of traditional outpatient therapy.  Having consecutive, 7-hour therapy days gives us the flexibility to safely and effectively process through difficult, and sometimes dissociated, trauma memories.

Trauma intensives can help individuals to find relief from symptoms such as:

  • Flashbacks
  • Nightmares
  • Body Memories
  • Chronic Pain

The types of traumatic experiences we commonly treat include, but are not limited to:

  • Traumas taking place during the preverbal or infant years
  • Emotional, physical, and or sexual abuse
  • Neglect
  • Domestic violence
  • Sexual assault or rape
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Natural disasters
  • Near death experiences
  • Medical and surgical traumas
  • Combat trauma

Trauma intensives are for adults living locally or out of the area, who are ready to find closure to the past.
