A trauma intensive is a customized program that is specifically tailored to the client’s trauma and personality. It is similar to a day treatment program or a partial hospitalization where the client comes from 9-5 and returns home at the end of the day. (or somewhere locally if they are not from this area) So often, clients are not able to really process traumatic memories during a regular 60 min session and feel as if they have gotten the type of closure they are longing for and then they have to put it all back and go on with their day. During the intensive, we stay with them as they tell their trauma story and provide on the spot help for regulating, reframing, releasing, forgiving, doing repair work and learning how to receive good things and allow positive things in while establishing new internal dialogues. We provide a safe space to let them “go there” and then we retrain the brain to recognize that they no longer need to carry that hypervigilance around. It is possible to tell their story and be supported while learning new ways to take care of themselves when triggered and how to get themselves back when they dissociate. We also address and teach self help acupressure to help release trauma stored in the body along with a variety of experiential therapy approaches. We use a graphic narrative to examine the instinctual trauma responses and to reframe the trauma story in a way that the brain can store it properly. We use EMDR, IFS and a variety of other modalities to help clients target parts of themselves that have remained affected by the trauma and are interfering in their present day life.

During this week or two, it is similar to a hospitalization but instead of the goal being just to stabilize-the goal is to treat and process one or two trauma stories and learn new coping skills in order to stabilize. The clients leave with a wellness map and a follow up video session one month after their intensive.

We also meet with their hometown therapist and provide their therapist with all of the notes and pictures from the intensive as well as an action plan that highlights areas to focus on in the next few months of therapy.

This customized therapy is not covered by insurance and is paid out of pocket by making a deposit for half when booking the trauma intensive and paying the other half before the first day of treatment.

Total price is $5,500.00 per week.
