Somatic Yin Yoga

  • The State College Healing Room 1951 Pine Hall Road State College, PA, 16801 United States (map)

Whether you’re holding it all together on the outside but exhausted on the inside, or simply need to befriend your body and come back home to yourself, this practice is for you.

Somatic Yin Yoga weaves longer-held, gentle yin postures with somatic movements to release tension in the body and mind, and nourish you on every level.

So often our bodies are stuck in fight, flight or freeze without us even realizing it — sticky shoulders, shallow breath, tight hips, clenched jaws, that constant hum of anxious energy and buzzing thoughts... this practice meets you there.

  • Grounded yin shapes work with your muscles and fascia to soften long-held tensions. (Supported by tons of props, time and tenderness!)

  • Embodied mindfulness practices release the grip of busy “thinking brain” and guide awareness down and into the body to rest in a powerful space of quiet awareness.

  • Somatic movements retrain the nervous system to release habitual patterns, contractions and stuck energy.

Come as you are and connect, explore, release, and cultivate inner stillness. Somatic Yin Yoga is yoga from the inside out.

Sessions led by Lori Wieder, LAPC, C-IAYT.
